32% of Almaty students note laziness and lack of motivation as the main factors preventing them from leading a healthy lifestyle

The National Association “Densaulyk” and Almaty Management University (AlmaU) presented the results of a study on the lifestyle of Almaty students, their attitude to a healthy lifestyle (HLS) and the problems they face.

Over the course of seven months, 200 AlmaU students conducted a survey on key issues: smoking, alcohol consumption, nutrition and attitude to a healthy lifestyle. The study involved 1,080 students from 18 universities in Almaty.

Change PR provided PR support for this project at all stages: from preparing a press release and organizing a press conference to working with opinion leaders and covering the event in the media.

The main findings of the study sparked an active discussion in the media space. The key factors that negatively affect students’ health include:

  • Bad habits (smoking, alcohol, drugs) – 42%
  • Sedentary lifestyle – 32%
  • Unbalanced diet – 29%

We attracted the attention of journalists and bloggers, prepared a series of expert comments and organized interviews with key speakers. Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that 32% of students name laziness and lack of motivation as the main barrier to leading a healthy lifestyle. This fact made it possible to form an information agenda about the need to support student initiatives aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The results of the study were presented at an official press conference. The materials of the event were covered in leading media and social networks.
